My First GB Blog Post

Hey guys!

My name is Peyton Osborn and I am a freshman at Faulkner University. I’m going to take a moment (and this blog) to tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Foley, Alabama, however, whenever I travel, I’ve developed the habit of telling others that I’m from Gulf Shores, Alabama, which is a town directly south of Foley. The main reason for this is simple: my church.

I grew up attending the Gulf Shores Church of Christ on most Sundays, but my life didn’t really experience any serious impacts from it until around seventh grade when a friend I made invited me to a youth group snack night. Long story short, I got very involved with the family I came into contact with there and it changed my life forever. I learned deep, important truths about the world, life, and the One who had made it all. I grew through my teenage years, and my faith grew right along with me. I traveled around the country, and a couple times even the world, and saw some amazing things (which is why I grew accustomed to telling people I was from Gulf Shores). I developed skills, confidence, and a unique personality. And I made lasting friendships that shaped who I am today. But the most important thing of all is that I came to understand that God is the most important thing in my life and without Him I am nothing.

Alright now... I decided to go over the serious stuff first. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s cover some random facts. I like to sing and engage in public speaking. I enjoy talking to people and learning about their stories. I try to be excessively happy and silly. People point out my curly hair all the time and apparently it’s my most descriptive feature. My license says I’m 5’10”, but I question that statement’s authenticity (and I’m still holding out hope for another growth spurt to hit). I like Mexican, Italian, and American food, especially pizza. My favorite color is blue and that works out nicely because that is my college’s colors.

There are some more things I could say, but I’ll save them for another time. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me and I hope that you have an amazing day!

Until next time!

  1. Good morning, Peyton! I thought I was one of your best friends here at Faulkner, but for some reason I had absolutely no idea that you were truly from Foley, and I found out at the same time as everyone else in Great Books. I am not actually upset, so please do not apologize to me about it. I know I have told you countless time, but I am going to tell you again: I am so impressed with your relationship with God. Your faith is inspiring to me, and I strive to have that strong of a relationship with God one day. Thank you for taking the time to tell us a little bit about yourself. I know how hard you worked on this. I wish we were in class together, but alas I will see you around! Have a blessed day!
